The Arthur Murray Approach
Our Oceanside studio isn’t the only studio Escondido residents can choose, and we know this. That is why we work hard to offer you an experience that makes it well worth your while to choose us. And the biggest reason dancers turn to us time and time again is the Arthur Murray approach.
Plenty of studios can teach dance. You go in, you learn the movements, and you repeat the movements when needed. We take it much further than that. We bring fun and personality to the process. Without this, dancing is robotic, not joyful. We want you to fall in love with dance, either for the first time or all over again.
We also work to develop your confidence as a dancer. With us, you will find that the dance floor is no longer an intimidating place. When you choose our Oceanside studio, you relax and have fun as you learn.
To insure the process isn’t intimidating, we offer our classes at four levels and also offer individual classes that are 100% tailored to you. Our Escondido dance students always feel challenged, never bored, and never overwhelmed.
The Dance Styles We Teach
Some studios teach every dance style imaginable, but we don’t. Instead, we stick to elegant partner dances in specific styles, because that is what we know and do best. By focusing on quality over quantity, we ensure that we offer expert instruction, delivering the best results. And if you aren’t sure which style you want to study, we can help you make a decision. Below are the dance styles we currently offer to our Escondido dance students.
If you are familiar with classic Hollywood cinema and love with the dance sequences, this is the style for you. Ballroom Dances dominated the Golden Age of Hollywood because they delivered the elegance and glamor the era is known for. And while some may think that this era is long gone, it is alive and well here at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Among these dances we teach are the Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, and the Quickstep.
Everyone loves Latin Dance. It’s fun to watch, fun to learn, and fun to teach. This style of dance is very passionate, intricate, and athletic. As such, studying this style of dance can help you build your confidence while also getting in the most enjoyable workout you will ever have. Included amongst the Latin Dances we teach are the Bolero, Rumba, Mambo, Cha-cha, Samba, Paso Doble, Merengue, and Salsa.
Country and Western Dances
You don’t need to buy cowboy boots to learn Country and Western Dances. Yes, the name does make you think of line dancing, honky tonks, and bolero ties, but the dances in this style work great in any setting—including the aforementioned honky tonks, but also balls, galas, and weddings. These dances are easy to learn, making them great for those who are nervous about learning dance. With Arthur Murray, you can learn the Country Western Waltz, Texas Two-Step, Country Shuffle, Country Swing, West Coast Swing, the Progressive Two-Step, and the Country Triple.
Dance is always evolving. As such, there are new dances being developed all the time. Many newer dances are fusion dances, which means they don’t fit easily into established categories. They borrow elements from various styles to create something fun and unique. When we come across these dances, we call them Specialty Dances. Among the specialty dances we teach are the Nightclub Two-Step, Bachata, the Argentine Tango, and the Zouk.
Swing and Rhythm Dances
Arthur Murray is our namesake, and he was also a pioneer in the world of Swing and Rhythm Dances. We take great pride in our ability to teach these dances, and the fact that we are introducing new generations to them every day. These dances are incredibly fun, and you will fall in love with them. Let us turn you into a Swing and Rhythm expert with dances such as the East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Hustle, and the Jive, taught right here at our Oceanside dance studio.
Reasons to Take Dance Lessons
No one needs to have a reason to study dance, but plenty of our students do. Whether it is for a specific event or to achieve a personal goal, we want to help you. Below are some common reasons our Escondido dance students turn to us.
Dancing is a great way to have fun. As such, many people use our classes as a way to meet new people or connect with their friends. You can come solo and we will partner you up, or you can sign up with a group of friends. We also host dance socials so you can meet others in the community who share your love of dance.
Most weddings have a dance floor, but most people feel awkward dancing on them. With the rise of social media, more and more people are becoming wallflowers rather than risking embarrassment. We can help you avoid any cringe worthy moments by teaching the couple, the wedding party, and even the guests how to navigate the dance floor.
Special Events Dance
And weddings are not the only places where there is a social expectation to dance. From birthdays to galas, plenty of events use dance as a central element. We will help you learn the steps you need to fit right in.
No matter your skill level, we can help you gear up for a competition. We have helped professionals refine their approach and helped those who had never danced before get ready for their very first competition. Allow us to help you take home the prize.
