Arthur Murray Dance Studio near Corona
Some people are just born gifted. Take, for example, dancers who just seem to have natural grace. When you see them moving across the dance floor, you get the feeling that the ability to dance is something you are either born with, or you aren’t. But here at Arthur Murray Riverside Dance Studio, we don’t feel that way. Yes, dance may come easier to some than it does to others, but we firmly believe that everyone can dance. So if you are in Corona and interested in dance lessons, allow us to be the studio that guides you.
The Arthur Murray Approach
For Corona residents, there are many dance studios to choose from. And since this is the case, you are likely wondering why our Riverside dance studio is the right choice for you.
Arthur Murray only employs the very best teachers, and we have a rigorous training program they must complete before they ever teach a single class. We have a beautiful studio that is open, welcoming, and fully equipped. And we also offer an excellent location. But those factors are not what sets us apart. What does is the Arthur Murray approach.
What defines this approach? That we both teach dance and develop dancers. Most dance studios focus on the memorization of steps in time with the music. However, this tends to result in stiff dancing, not to mention that once you aren’t picking the soundtrack, you might find yourself unable to make the steps work.
Our approach is to make dancing a part of you, something natural and fluid. With our lessons, you will find yourself able to adapt the movements to different music and different environments. This allows you to enjoy dance by removing the panic you might feel dancing outside the walls of our studio.
We can accomplish this by offering classes that are tailored to your needs. Every class we offer can be taken at four different levels: beginner, bronze, silver, and gold. This makes it easy to find the perfect fit for you. Soon enough, you will find that dance feels quite natural, and you will be confident any time you step onto a dance floor.
The Dance Styles We Teach
Arthur Murray Dance Studio specializes in elegant partner dances. Rather than trying to teach all types of dance, we stick to what we do best, and we do it very well. Below are the styles of dance we currently offer our Corona dance students.
When you think of partner dances, Ballroom Dances tend to be the first that come to mind. That is because we tend to be introduced to them very young, watching them on television and in movies, admiring the swirling gowns the women wear and the gentle guidance of the men. If you would love to capture this elegance of sophistication for yourself, you can with our Ballroom Dance classes. Among the dances we teach are the Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, and the Quickstep.
It wasn’t all that long ago that most people had no idea what Latin Dance looked like. Now, it has become one of the most popular dance styles, both on the competitive circuit and when danced just for fun. If you would like to give this fun, sensual, and athletic dance style a try, your perfect class is here, just waiting for you. Included amongst the Latin Dances we teach are the Bolero, Rumba, Mambo, Cha-cha, Samba, Paso Doble, Merengue, and Salsa.
Country and Western Dance
Does the name of this dance style call to mind 90s line dancing and 10-gallon hats? While you are more than welcome to wear your finest western duds, Country and Western Dance is quite different from line dancing. These dances are elegant partner dances that focus on smooth scooting and gliding. Unlike many other types of dance, these dances are highly adaptable, looking equally at home at your local bar and a fancy ballroom. With Arthur Murray, you can learn the Country Western Waltz, Texas Two-Step, Country Shuffle, Country Swing, West Coast Swing, the Progressive Two-Step, and the Country Triple.
As dance instructors, we love dance, no matter the style it comes from. But sometimes a dance doesn’t come from a specific style, instead borrowing from many and creating something unique. When we come across such a dance and fall in love with it, we call it a Specialty Dance. Among the specialty dances we teach are the Nightclub Two-Step, Bachata, the Argentine Tango, and the Zouk.
Swing and Rhythm Dance
Arthur Murray was a Swing and Rhythm pioneer, and as such, we love having the opportunity to keep his legacy alive. This fun, social style of dance is not only a joy to learn, but it is also central to one of the best dance communities in the area. If you want to learn how to swing, let us turn you into a Swing and Rhythm expert with dances such as the East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Hustle, and the Jive.
Reasons to Take Dance Lessons
We welcome all dance students, no matter their reason for studying with us. In fact, you don’t need to have a reason at all. However, most people come to us with a certain motivation. Below are some of the more common reasons our Corona dance students study with us.
Before dance was considered performance or art, it was used as a way to bond with others. And while dance has evolved, this social element remains. Come with friends to enjoy each other’s company, come alone to meet new people, and attend our dance socials to meet others in the dance community.
