Expert Dance Instruction for Moreno Valley
Dancing is one of those things that just isn’t for everyone, right? Wrong! With the right approach, everyone can learn to dance. And that includes you. Maybe you are pretty confident on the dance floor, or maybe you feel like you are better off blending into the wall paper. But no matter how you feel about your skills, the team at our Riverside dance studio will help you improve and build your confidence. So stop holding yourself back and embrace the wonderful world of dance with us.
The Arthur Murray Approach
Moreno Valley has many dance studios you can study at. So, if there are so many studios you can study dance at, why should you choose our Riverside dance studio?
There are many factors that make us great. We have top instructors who are highly dedicated. We have top-of-the-line facilities. We have schedules that work for you. But none of those are what makes us different. What does allow us to stand out in a crowd is the Arthur Murray approach.
Our goal is not just to teach dance moves, but to develop you as a dancer. This means moving beyond simple memorization and execution of movements, which helps you feel natural when dancing. Simple memorization comes off as robotic, and is boring for the dancer. With us, you will find yourself moving fluidly, matching the music and improvising as you go.
And how can we ensure that this happens? By delivering tailored instruction to each student we teach. Whether your classes are one-on-one or group classes, we make sure to give you the precise type of instruction you need. Each class is available at four different levels: beginner, bronze, silver, and gold. This makes it easy to take the class that challenges you without overwhelming you. And this allows you to become comfortable and natural with dance.
The Dance Styles We Teach
Arthur Murray Dance Studio has not made a name for itself by teaching every possible style of dance. Our focus is on partner dances, and our reputation is built on teaching just a few styles of partner dances that we are genuine experts in. Does this mean you might not find the dance style you are looking for? Possibly. But it does mean that you will get the best possible instruction when studying the dance styles we do teach. Below are the types of dance you can currently study with us at our Riverside dance studio.
For many of us, this is the first dance style we fall in love with. We grow up seeing it in cartoons, danced in elegant ballrooms by women in dresses with sweeping skirts and men in tailored suits, and it strikes us as elegant and magical. And you can capture that sophistication yourself by learning ballroom dances with us. Among these dances we teach are the Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, and the Quickstep.
If you love watching competitive dance, then you have no doubt been captivated by the fiery movements of Latin Dance. These dances are sensual, athletic, and so much fun. We get many students who are interested in Latin Dance, but are afraid it is too much for them. Our team promises that we can make these incredible dances accessible to you. Included amongst the Latin Dances we teach are the Bolero, Rumba, Mambo, Cha-cha, Samba, Paso Doble, Merengue, and Salsa.
Country and Western Dances
Are you picturing 90s line dancing right now? Well, erase that image, because there is so much more to Country and Western Dances. The dances we teach are beautiful, simple partner dances. The basic moves for these dances are gliding, stepping, and scooting, which means that they are at home just about everywhere. Try them at the local dive bar or at your next black-tie affair; they will work equally well in both settings. With Arthur Murray, you can learn the Country Western Waltz, Texas Two-Step, Country Shuffle, Country Swing, West Coast Swing, the Progressive Two-Step, and the Country Triple.
We have incredible passion for dance, and that means that sometimes we fall in love with a new dance that we can’t quite fit into another category. When this happens, we teach it in our specialty dance classes. These dances are usually fusion dances, blending elements from various styles to create something original. This makes Specialty Dances fun, as well as a great starting point for studying other styles. Among the specialty dances we teach are the Nightclub Two-Step, Bachata, the Argentine Tango, and the Zouk.
Swing and Rhythm Dances
Arthur Murray isn’t just part of our name; his legacy is part of our everyday work as we teach the style of dance he pioneered: Swing and Rhythm Dances. This dance style is social, fun, and full of energy. Plus, it has a fun culture built into it, so learning it helps you become part of something bigger. Let us turn you into a Swing and Rhythm expert with dances such as the East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Hustle, and the Jive.
Reasons to Take Dance Lessons
Considering we love dance enough to have made it our life’s work, we don’t think you need a special reason to learn how to dance. However, most of our students come to us with a specific reason or goal in mind. Below are some of the more common reasons Moreno Valley residents turn to us.
Have you ever wondered why people started dancing in the first place? Before there were staged performances, it was used as a way to communicate and socialize. And it still is, from bars and clubs to weddings and galas. Our dance classes and dance socials are a great way to meet new people, better connect with your friends, and become part of the larger dance community.
No one wants to watch their wedding video and cringe at their dancing. Even if you aren’t the bride or the groom, you don’t want to make a fool of yourself at an event that is no doubt being recorded. We can offer you classes that will give you the confidence you need. You can take classes on your own, as a couple, as the wedding party, or with all the guests as well.
Special Events Dance
Weddings are very special events, but they aren’t the only ones. And when people gather together, dance tends to be part of the equation. We can help you gear up for your next cruise, gala, reunion, and more. Get ready to feel confident on the dance floor with our guidance.
Wowing crowds and judges is a little more complicated than simply enjoying yourself on the dance floor—though you should still be enjoying yourself. Our team has helped seasoned competitive dancers perfect their technique, and they have also helped those who have never competed before. No matter your experience or your motivation for chasing this dream, we will help you realize it and cheer you on the whole way.
